Laulagun Bearings strengthens its technological leadership through the INNCODIS and W1NDSAIL projects under the Naval PERTE framework

Laulagun Bearings has achieved a major milestone in its innovation strategy through its involvement in the INNCODIS tractor project and the W1NDSAIL primary project, both funded by the Government of Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the NextGenerationEU funds.

Within these projects, the company has completed several significant developments:

  • Design and manufacturing of an advanced, sensor‑equipped bearing.
  • Redesign and fabrication of key components of the BEARINN test bench, Laulagun Bearings’ R&D unit.
  • Integration and validation of the full system, including verification of the design models, bearing behavior under representative load conditions, and the operation of the upgraded installation.

The BEARINN team is currently testing a highly instrumented bearing equipped with new sensing technologies, providing real-time operational data and enabling the validation of more advanced design methodologies. This information is already being used to enhance reliability, enable ad‑hoc designs for specific applications, and support the development of new service‑oriented business models.

By the end of the project, Laulagun Bearings expects the technological developments enabled by INNCODIS and W1NDSAIL to allow the company to deliver higher‑reliability solutions, expand its sensing and monitoring capabilities, and consolidate its positioning in service‑based innovation.

The upgrades implemented and the progress achieved within the Naval PERTE initiative reinforce Laulagun Bearings’ commitment to technological leadership in the field of large-scale bearings, extending beyond the wind sector into new high-value industrial applications.
